Meet Amy Bennett! Amy is from Kamloops, left for a bit, but is back once again! She is a hard-working and motivated woman who is happiest when she's with her son.

Where are you from and how long have you lived in Kamloops?
I’m from Kamloops, moved to Vancouver for 4 years, and now live in Kamloops again.

Who is your favourite person to spend time with and why?
My son, he is the happiest human being on the planet, he makes me feel like the best version of myself.

What is your favourite local store in Kamloops and why?
Jardines.

Describe yourself in one word.
Hardworking.

If you could go anywhere in the world right at this moment where would you go and why?
Paris, I love the architecture and the vibe of the city.

What is your favourite activity in Kamloops?
Grabbing coffee with girlfriends.

What is the most inspiring thing that has happened to you?
How I’ve handled all of life's obstacles. I feel strong, motivated and blessed to have what I have at this moment.

Tell us your favourite childhood memory.
Going to the lake, and camping.

If you could change one thing in the world what would it be?
How we treat one another.

Where would you sneak away to in Kamloops to spend some time alone?
Coffee shop.

Where would you like to see positive change in Kamloops and why?
More creative outlets for artists.

What do you think makes Kamloops great?
A young generation that is pushing for change and growth within our city.

What are 3 things on your bucket list?
Move to a huge city (no idea what one), go stay at the giraffe manor in Africa, be happy.

Tell us something that not everyone may know about you.
I talk a lot more now than I did in high school!

How do people connect with you, personally, through social media?
Instagram.

What is the name of your business/organization?
Hair by Amy Bennett.

Why did you get into/start this business?
I’ve always been into hair and makeup. Was doing hair at lunchtime during school.

What is the goal of your business?
To have every client that sits in my chair feel like the most confident and beautiful version of the self.

What has been your biggest struggle either at work or in life?
Building my own brand and business from nothing.

Tell us your best piece of life advice.
No goal is too big... if you want something bad enough and you work hard for it life will reward you.

If you could spend one whole day with anyone in the world who is currently alive, who would you select?
I would love to spend an entire day with Jen Atkin, she needs to show me all of her hairstyling tricks!

Why do you think it is important to shop locally?
So we can help our city grow.

What has been your proudest accomplishment?
Being Dixon’s mommy.
