Meet Samantha, she and her family have lived in Kamloops for almost a year. Samantha is a spin instructor at K Spin Indoor Cycling Studio and loves to help people work towards their fitness goals so they can live their best lives.
Who is your favourite person to spend time with and why?
My husband and daughter, because they are my people and they always make me laugh.
What is your favourite local store in Kamloops and why?
Fratellis! The sandwiches and pasta are so good!

If you could go anywhere in the world right at this moment where would you go and why?
Italy... to relax with my family, eat great food and drink delicious wine!
What is your favourite activity in Kamloops?
Inside- Spin (of course) and CrossFit. Outside- Going outside and exploring the trails.
What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you?
Last year, I was in a bike portion of a race with my sister-in-law and niece. Without thinking, I clipped both feet into the pedals without moving and fell right over!
What is the most inspiring thing that has happened to you?
In May, I went on a Purpose & Practice retreat in Whistler. I practiced yoga with over 200 people and really dug deep into finding our purpose and living our truths. It was the most eye-opening experience and so inspiring to be surrounded by over 200 people who didn't know each other but were so supportive of one another.
Tell us your favourite childhood memory.
I feel like I have so many amazing childhood memories of spending time with my family and it brings me so much joy. I think my favourite memory would have to be going to Disneyland with my family! I would love to do that trip again and bring along my princess-loving daughter.
Where do you volunteer or give back to in the community?
At K Spin, we have hosted karma rides, we don't charge for the class but ask for a donation to put towards a local cause. I also give back to the United Way because I believe the work they do in our city for the kids is so very important.
If you could change one thing in the world what would it be?
It would be to see more kindness in this world. People treating each other as equals. Also ending child hunger, no child should have to go hungry or be worried about where their next meal is coming from.
Where would you sneak away to in Kamloops to spend some time alone?

Where would you like to see positive change in Kamloops and why?
In our homeless population, I would love to see more options for people in need.
What do you think makes Kamloops great?
The people, everyone is so friendly here.

I love spin, and love sharing my passion with it for others.

To create a safe, welcoming environment where people can come, workout and I can help them live their best lives.
What has been your biggest struggle either at work or in life?
Finding a balance between my home life and work life.
Tell us your best piece of life advice.
Follow your dreams and just go for it!
If you could spend one whole day with anyone in the world who is currently alive, who would you select?
I would spend the entire day with my bestie, Brittany. No kids, no husbands, just us!
Why do you think it is important to shop locally?
To support our local families who run those businesses.
What has been your proudest accomplishment?
Having my daughter and teaching my first spin class at K Spin!
