The Kamloops Arts Council is making local art more visible with its latest program.
Art in Public spaces will see paintings, photography and other works by local artists displayed where residents and tourists congregate in an effort to make the community more vibrant and showcase Kamloops talent. Exhibits will appear at local organizations on a rotating basis.
Royal Inland Hospital will host the debut exhibit, with an opening reception on September 21st from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
The initial Art in Public Spaces exhibit will be on the second floor of clinical services building and feature more than 40 works. Featured artists include painter Tricia Sellmer, watercolour artist Patricia Kellogg, designer Kristina Benson and photographer Ross Outerbridge.
Featured artwork will be available to purchase onsite and online.
