“Food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick,” the CFIA explains.

“Symptoms can include vomiting, nausea, persistent fever, muscle aches, severe headache and neck stiffness. In severe cases of illness, people may die.”

The notice added that pregnant people, the elderly and those with a weakened immune system are particularly at risk.

Fortunately, there have not yet been any reported illnesses associated with the consumption of this product.

The CFIA is urging anyone with this product in their fridge to not consume, use, sell, serve or distribute it.

The recalled product should be thrown out or returned to where it was purchased for a potential refund.
