Perched mountain-top and cantilevered to the sky and jaw-dropping view, it's apropos this new restaurant-bar-pro shop and wedding venue is called The Edge.
"There's not a bad view up here," said Terra Renton with a laugh.
She's the president of Rencor Investments, which owns The Rise Resort and golf course in Vernon.
"We definitely oriented The Edge to the views overlooking Okanagan Lake 1,000 feet below and the city of Vernon."
The second thing Renton wants to stress is that The Edge is not just for members of The Rise, the championship, 18-hole, Fred Couples Signature golf course, which also takes advantage of the stupendous views.
"It's not the clubhouse, it's a restaurant and venue for locals and tourists and golfers," she said.
"It's always been a dream to have this kind of facility up here and the dream has come true."
The Rise golf course opened in 2008 and immediately attracted accolades for those aforementioned views and its intuitive design and playability.
The amenities to start with included a pro shop in a tent and a snack shack called Freddy's after Couples.
So, it would take 16 years for the showpiece of The Edge to come along.
"We grew slowly and sort of evolved into our popularity," said Renton.
"The Edge is the perfect way for the resort to have a new dimension."

The three-level building juts out in two directions and features floor-to-ceiling windows on levels two and three.
Golf operations are on the bottom floor.
The main floor is where the pro shop, Dante's golf simulators and sports bar is along with the 200-capacity banquet, meeting and wedding space called Stellar.
The shop isn't just golf gear and wear, but also casual and resort clothing and lifestyle merchandise like coolers and paddle boards.
The top floor, with its over-height ceilings is where The Edge restaurant is with seating for 160-people inside and a 4,000-square-foot, multi-level patio with various types of seating, including some around five fire tables.
The Edge restaurant also has a bar and lounge.
Up top, there's also the 15-seat private dining room Apatite.
Kevin Cooper is the executive chef -- an Okanagan College graduate who went off to work at Michelin-starred restos such as Thaillevant in Toulouse, France and Milanos Trattoria in Milan, Italy before returning to Canada to work at Priddis Greens Golf & Country Club outside of Calgary, Olivers in Calgary and Great Estate Wine Group, which includes Okanagan wineries Nk'Mip and Jackson-Triggs.
Cooper has developed a menu at The Edge that's mainly comfort foods and favourite dishes, some with a twist, from fish and chips, steaks, Japanese scallops, beef ravioli and lamb sirloin to duck wings, charcuterie plates, a signature burger, bao bun and Caesar and beet salads.
Desserts run the gamut from vegan cheesecake and deconstructed key lime pie to creme brulee and sour cherry apple tarte.
The wine list includes glasses and bottles from Okanagan wineries such as La Stella, 1 MIll Road, O'Rourke, Joie, Dasilva, Lake Breeze and La Frenz as well as international wines from France, California, Spain and Italy.
Beer includes some local craft options as well as well-known national and international brands and there's a full cocktail and mocktail program.
