Just imagine -- a Tesla-powered wine tour of Naramata in the morning followed by lunch and a glorious afternoon (and more wine) on Okanagan Lake on a 46-foot sailing yacht.
This bougie day is called the Sustainable Sip & Anchor Wine & Sailing Adventure.
And it's the only such wine tour-sailing combination excursion in the South Okanagan.
"Drink it all in," said Jess Hopwood as she announced the new offering.
"This is the most excited I've been about any new tour launch. I wish I could clone myself and be a guest. The adventure is the perfect day of tasting wine, sailing, swimming and stand-up paddle boarding."
Hopwood is the owner and guide of Farm to Glass Wine Tours, which is going into its third season of offering private wine tours in an all-electric Tesla Model Y.
She bumped into Robyn and Dan Hines, the owners of the sailing yacht Anam Cara, last fall at Wayne & Freda Cafe in Penticton.
By the way, Anam Cara is Gaelic for devoted companion and friend.
"It was complete serendipity," said Hopwood.
"I had an ah-ha moment of: Wouldn't it be cool if we collaborated. So, I pitched it to them right there and then."
The result is the Sustainable Sip & Anchor Wine & Sailing Adventure, which is on offer Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays from June 1 to Sept. 15.
Bookings have already started to roll in for this unique combo tour.
The 'Sip' portion of the day is the private wine tour for up to four people in the Tesla Model Y (thus the 'sustainable' part of the title).
On the wine tour, you'll visit three wineries in Naramata for premium tastings.
Hopwood works with a wide cross-section of wineries in Naramata, so it could be any three you choose from 1 Mill Road, Bella, Creek & Gully Cider, Daydreamer, Fox & Archer, Joie, Lock & Worth, Nichol, Roche, Serendipity and Terravista.
At noon, Hopwood will drop you off at the lakeside in Naramata with your pre-ordered picnic lunch to have on board the Anam Cara.
Robyn and Dan Hines of Winds of Change Expeditions will tender you out to the sailing yacht and set you up on the boat, complete with any bottles you bought on your wine tour that you'd like to keep chilled for afternoon sipping.
Then it's sailing with some anchor ups so you can swim and-or paddleboard.
While the wine tour portion of the day is private for up to four people, the sail boat will take six guests, so you might be joined by another couple or two.
Hopwood will pick you up lakeside at 4 pm in the Tesla for the third and final wine tasting of the day.
It's worth it to sign up for Hopwood's newsletter at www.farmtoglasswinetours.ca to get 15% off any bookings.
For the Sustainable Sip & Anchor Wine & Sailing Adventure the discounted rate is $806 for two, $1,070 for 3 or $1,316 for four.
