Four people enjoying a night out on the town ended up in jail after a fight outside a Kamloops nightclub last weekend.
According to police, the incident began when an employee of the Night Shift on 5th tried to stop a patron from leaving the club with open liquor around 1:30 am on Sunday, Feb. 23.
In response, the patron allegedly began fighting the employee and three other people became involved.
The RCMP said the employee was injured in the brawl, but did not specify the nature of their injuries.
“The suspects attempted to flee, but were quickly located and arrested by various police officers,” explained an RCMP release.
“They were lodged in cells, then released with a court date and conditions. Charge recommendations are anticipated.”
Anyone who witnessed this incident in the early hours of Sunday night is urged to contact the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2025-5060.
Police provided information on this incident as part of the Kamloops RCMP’s weekend report for Feb. 21-24.
Another notable incident happened around 4 am Monday after a pickup truck was stolen from a driveway in the 2800 block of Valleyview Drive.
Just minutes later, the truck was found abandoned and on fire on the Hook Road off-ramp. The Pritchard Fire Department extinguished the blaze.
The RCMP is hoping to speak with witnesses or those with relevant video footage from the area that morning.
