Fight between 2 women in Kamloops escalates into stabbing

One woman was sent to hospital and another was arrested after a late-night stabbing on the North Shore.

Kamloops RCMP officers responded to the incident in the 200 block of Tranquille Road around 11 pm Tuesday.

A 911 call reported that a fight between two women escalated into one of them being stabbed.

Police located one suspect near the scene and brought her into custody, while the stabbing victim was transported to Royal Inland Hospital with serious injuries.

According to the RCMP, she’s expected to recover.

“We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident and who has not yet spoken with investigators to please come forward,” Cpl. Dana Napier said through a media release.

“We are also asking businesses nearby to review their security footage around that time to help us further the investigation.”
