Missing 90-year-old man found dead in Kamloops

Kamloops RCMP has confirmed that a missing 90-year-old man from Quesnel has been found dead in the city.

According to police, after being reported missing on January 1st, Malcolm McLaughlin was found dead on Sunday. Officers located McLaughlin deceased in his vehicle on Tranquille Road.

All evidence suggests that he was involved in a single-vehicle collision and there is nothing suspicious regarding the crash. McLaughlin's dog "Chico" was found alive and uninjured and was taken to a local animal hospital until arrangements could be made with his family.

RCMP would like to thank the public for their help in the search.

The BC Coroners Service will be conducting their own investigation and no more information will be released at this time.
