It’s the start of a new chapter for one of the games greatest players ever.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s transfer from Real Madrid CF to Juventus FC was officially completed today.
The Italian club paid a transfer fee around €105 million for the 33-year-old, which is just over $161 million CAD.

With the move, Ronaldo’s nine-year career at Real Madrid comes to an end and he leaves as the club’s most decorated player.
“Today, Real Madrid wants to express its gratitude to a player who has proved to be the best in the world and who has marked one of the brightest times in the history of our club and world football,” said the team in an official statement.
“For Real Madrid, Cristiano Ronaldo will always be one of his great symbols and a unique reference for the next generations. Real Madrid will always be your home.”

He’s the top scorer in the team’s history, with 451 goals in 438 games, but he also led Real Madrid to 16 titles.
That includes four Champions League titles, three UEFA Super Cups, three FIFA Club World Cups, two King’s Cups, two Spanish Super Cups and a pair of La Liga titles.
The Portuguese national also won four Ballon d’Or awards as the world’s best footballer and three Golden Shore awards as Europe’s top scorer.
