117-year-old temperature record broken in the Okanagan as heat warnings return to BC

Several communities across British Columbia logged new temperature records on Thursday, according to Environment Canada.

The forecaster said the figures are preliminary and apply only to the date of Aug. 1.

It comes as much of the province has been put back under heat warnings, with temperatures in the mid-30s anticipated in the days ahead.
